exhibition design approach

the physical space and layout of the gallery reflects the content of the works, the interconnections and Shimmer in the digital blockchain landscape

inspired by “space as a reflection of content” exhibition design approach by Carlo Scarpa for the Piet Mondrian Exhibition, Rome 1956 (via Node’s “Exhibition Design” class with Tiziano Schürch, week 3, slides 26-31)

visitor path

visitors enter the gallery space and start from the beginning — hand painted bark paintings and cultural symbols of the landscape representing Indigenous peoples’ connection to Country

there are two exits which the visitor must choose from:

one is the path from and of nature — works depicting/related to natural landscapes

the other is the path from and of the artificial — works predominantly created via code/machine/AI/ML based algorithms and other digital processes

each artwork connects to another (but not all) -> “everything is connected to something” (Deborah Bird Rose, Thom van Dooren, Donna Haraway) — they all show aspects of Shimmer in the landscape and are located on the blockchain; situated in place on the blockchain
